Job Title: School Finance Data Manager
Qualifications: High School Diploma, required; NC Public School finance experience, preferred. Person(s) in this position should possess a high level of knowledge and expertise in clerical and administrative processes as well as customer service skills.
Special Considerations: Associate degree in business or accounting preferred with prior experience in North Carolina public school accounting. Considerable knowledge and proficiency of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word, and Google applications required.
Reports to: Principal and Chief Finance Officer
Supervises: Typically serves as the Lead Office Professional in the school’s main office.
Purpose of Position: Performs many functions of the finance process while serving as a support to the school administrators and all school employees
Responsibilities, Duties, & Expectations:
- Performs office routines in a quality, customer-oriented fashion
- Communicates and interacts with the school administrative team on a daily and consistent basis
- Maintains financial records on all school accounts in a manner prescribed by the Chief Finance Officer and school Principal
- Prepares and processes purchase orders
- Makes monthly reports to the Chief Finance Officer concerning the status of each school account
- Maintains student, financial, insurance and other records as assigned
- Receives and routes incoming calls, messages, mail and parcels
- Greets and assists visitors and other stakeholders who enter the school office
- Maintains accurate teacher payroll/attendance records and the concomitant records for Substitute Teachers
- Assists in securing Substitute Teachers on a daily basis
- Serves as the School Treasurer, cosigning all checks and account drafts
- Receives and deposits all school funds
- Assists teachers, students and all staff with office tasks and equipment
- Prepares correspondence, reports, memos, etc. as directed by school administration
- Distributes the mail, correspondence and messages received electronically and physically in the office
- Completes other duties as assigned by the administration
Evaluation and Measurement of Performance: Periodic performance check-ins and annual MGSD classified employee evaluation
Terms of Employment: 12-month, salary and work year to be established by the board of education
