Job Summary

The person in this position is under direction of a school site administrator to perform accounting work of above average difficulty involving senior high school student organizations and a student store and to perform other related duties as required. Incumbent, under the general supervision of a site administrator, performs above average clerical accounting duties involving functional responsibility for set of homogeneous financial records. Incumbent performs duties requiring knowledge and understanding of the policies, procedures, regulations and methods of a student store. Incumbent is expected to solve most problems through the application of their knowledge of concepts and procedures. Incumbent supervises the work of subordinate staff, volunteers and / or student workers.

Primary responsibilities are :

  • Processes all State reports; prepares and submits to State of California Sales and Use Tax Report for year; prepares quarterly taxes for out of state vendors and prepares report for district; prepare 1099's for all employees of ASB.
  • Receives, counts and banks money; verifies and processes all deposits from clubs, athletics, etc., and prepares all bank deposits and report for armored pick-up daily.
  • Maintains records of cash receipts and disbursements; maintains journals and ledgers of financial transactions; posts and balances ledgers; balances accounts and takes trial balances, prepares balance sheet and profit and loss statement.
  • Checks invoices, warrants, purchase orders, discounts, account classifications and verifies receipts for merchandise; prepares warrants for payment; records all non-sufficient fund checks and sends letters for collection.
  • Prepares and maintains a variety of financial and statistical records and reports; prepare and deliver monthly account analysis reports for all clubs, coaches, and administrators; send copies of all financial reports to district monthly; prepare month end reports as well as year-end reports for audit;

The written test will be given on WEDNESDAY, MARCH 12, 2025 AT 9 : 00am or 2 : 00pm (picture ID required). Late arrivals will not be admitted for testing. No cell phones, no calculator. Current employees working in a different job classification and desiring to make application for a vacant position should complete and submit an Application for Classified Employment to the Personnel Office prior to the posted deadline. An employee requesting to transfer from one work site to another work site in the same job classification, must complete and submit a classified Request for Transfer to the Personnel Office prior to the deadline. Outside applicants will also be considered.
