2nd Shift Security Officer

We are looking for a Fulltime Security Officer Sunday- Thursday 2p - 10p to join our TEAM!! This candidate must be dependable, like to work with people, is comfortable writing in logs, using the computer and has a valid Florida drivers license.

This position does include mandatory overtime around scheduled site events. Dates include, 4th of July, Halloween, Easter and others. 

Essential Job Functions

· Patrol campus and grounds to ensure the safety and security of the employees, residents and visitors.

· Respond to emergency situations on campus according to policies and procedures

· Respond to all building alarms. Insure buildings are safe and secure

· Operate Main Gate (Gatehouse) when assigned. Open and operate additional gates when necessary and as needed for special events.

· Provide security and traffic control for special activities and events

· Conduct checks of campus perimeter boundaries and Cemetery.

· Successfully complete and maintain (required certifications in CPR, first aid and fire extinguisher use, as well as any other) all training necessary.

· Maintain Logs, Document incidents and write reports as is necessary

· Maintain confidentiality of employees and resident’s information

· Perform other assignments as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

· Excellent written and oral skills to communicate effectively with all levels of management, employees, and residents

· Must be able to operate two-way radios

· Self-motivated, detailed oriented, innovative, work independently, multi-tasks with ability to prioritize work and to maintain strict confidentiality

· Demonstrated organizational skills required; ability to interact with staff, residents and the public with tact and discretion

· Considerate of all persons and able to work with others, positive attitude, outgoing personality and strong desire to work with aging population

Minimum Requirements

· Must possess and maintain valid Florida driver’s license to drive campus vehicles

· Knowledgeable of long term care processes preferred

· HS diploma or GED required; Associates degree or related experience preferred

· Is able to push, pull and/or lift a minimum of 25 lbs
