Essential Duties and Responsibilities
People Management
- Inspire and Lead: Attract, develop, and retain top talent passionate about service, excellence, and quality.
- Coach for Success: Train and develop team members using the MOOYAH Training Program, cross-training opportunities, pre-shift meetings, and mandatory compliance training (e.g., Food Safety).
- Set the Bar High: Educate, communicate, and reinforce quality standards for both leadership and team members.
- Performance Reviews: Conduct timely performance evaluations, including annual reviews that outline strengths, opportunities for growth, and merit recommendations.
Operations Management
- Excellence in Action: Ensure the restaurant meets the highest operational standards and complies with all state and federal regulations.
- Follow the Playbook: Adhere to MOOYAH’s Operations Manual to maintain consistency and excellence.
- System Mastery: Oversee all restaurant systems, including inventory control, accounting, and equipment management.
- Quality Assurance: Hold the restaurant accountable for executing quality control programs (e.g., Steritech inspections, pre-shift checklists).
- Keep It Running: Ensure all equipment is maintained and operating at peak performance.
Financial Management
- Achieve Goals: Meet or exceed sales and EBITDA targets.
- Strategic Planning: Monitor sales goals against the budget and prior performance, and take action to address unfavorable trends.
- Drive Sales: Build revenue by promoting exceptional guest experiences and executing national and local marketing initiatives.
- Smart Scheduling: Review and manage payrolls and schedules to optimize labor costs while supporting team needs.
Education and Work Experience Requirements
- Proven Leadership: At least 3 years of management experience in food service (fast food, quick service, or casual dining).
- Demonstrated Success: Minimum of 5 years in the restaurant, food service, or retail industry, showcasing career progression and measurable achievements.
- Educational Foundation: High School Diploma or GED required. Completion of a Food Service Management or Culinary program may substitute for some experience.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with Microsoft Office and back-of-house systems, such as labor schedulers and inventory tracking tools.
- Certifications: Current Food Safety Manager Certification or willingness to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
- Financial Acumen: Ability to analyze profit and loss statements and assess the restaurant’s financial performance.
- Leadership Excellence: Skilled at motivating and empowering teams, setting goals, and turning plans into action.
- Schedule Flexibility: Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Preferred Skills
- Bilingual Advantage: Spanish/English proficiency is a plus.
- Certifications: Current Food Service Management Certification is highly desirable.
- Franchise Knowledge: Experience with franchisee relations is a bonus.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- Active Role: Regularly required to stand, walk, kneel, talk, and listen.
- Strength Required: Must lift and carry products/boxes weighing up to 70 pounds.
- Fast-Paced: Be prepared to work in high-energy, loud environments with regular product preparation.
