Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Attorney to join our team on a temporary basis to support our business with contract negotiation and legal advisory services. This assignment is expected to last 2-3 months, depending on the onboarding of a full-time resource. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial law and be ready to start as soon as possible. While this position is primarily remote, candidates based in Chicago, IL, are preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide commercial legal advice and support to the business.
- Negotiate, draft, and review a wide range of commercial contracts.
- Act as a trusted legal advisor to business colleagues, ensuring a practical and commercial approach to all legal matters.
- Manage multiple and competing priorities while responding promptly to business needs and inquiries.
- Work independently, taking full ownership of assigned legal matters.
Qualifications:
- 7 years of experience in an in-house commercial or business unit role.
- Strong negotiating and drafting skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative and take ownership of work matters.
- Experience in the agricultural industry is a plus.
- Must be admitted to practice law in a U.S. state, preferably Illinois.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively.
