What are the responsibilities and job description for the Instructional Assistant - Learning Center (25 hours) - Joaquin Moraga - 2 positions position at Moraga School District?
Under the direction of the Special Education and General Education teachers, and Principal, the assistant will assist students with exceptional needs in the general education setting and Learning Center. Assist with the implementation of the IEP, perform necessary services required for the social-emotional academic needs of the student, and assist in supporting an environment so that there is access to the general education instructional program.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
? Under the supervision of the Learning Center teacher will work with individual or small groups of students to implement IEP goals and objectives
? Suggest improvements for interventions, strategies for the students’ success.
? Encourage practice of skills and facilitate skill development.
? Assist Learning Center teacher with the implemented programs either in the Learning Center or general education classroom.
? Assist with clerical work and lesson preparation when required
QUALIFICATIONS:
? Knowledge of middle-school curriculum
? Experience working with students with disabilities, behavior, and learning needs in a general education setting.
? Excellent communication skills and social skills.
? AA degree or two years of college credit.
? Must have mobility to stand, stoop, reach, bend, and twist while performing duties of this job.
Salary : $22 - $26
