Duties
Under general supervision, the Community Service Officer protects institutional property against fire, theft, vandalism and unauthorized entry, performing the following listed principal responsibilities to provide service to the college staff, students, visitors in accordance with most recent established procedures and directives.
Aid, as instructed or in the absence of orders, in disaster control, i.e. bomb threats, fire, explosions, and tornados. As needed the Community Service Officer will be assigned to dispatch duties.
The Community Service Officer is dedicated to the learning college concepts by developing programs and facilitating activities that promote student success and lifelong learning.
Education / Experience A minimum of three months of related experience and / or training required. Applicants must have a minimum of 32 hours of college credit hours at the time of application.
Must possess a valid driver’s license. Must be able to successfully complete certification program for Law Enforcement Agencies Data System (LEADS) and maintain current LEADS certification.
- Qualifications The Community Service Officer patrols buildings and grounds of college institution by motorized or foot patrol to deter and report crime, enforce non-criminal violations and provide service to staff, students, and visitors;
- performs desk relief and maintain desk competency along with a current LEADS certification; gives basic first aid to persons injured or college property as directed or in accordance with most recent procedures;
- ability to work independently and exercise good judgment; ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos;
