What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heating and Air Conditioning Instructor position at Moraine Valley Community College?
Duties
Support the goals and mission of the college; provide quality instruction to students; and communicate with your department chair or administrator. Teaching duties will consist of instruction in all facets of heating, air conditioning, ventilation and refrigeration. This position requires a strong commitment to student-centered success in the HVACR industry. Education / Experience
- Associate’s degree or Journeyman status in an HAC related union (HAC pipefitters, HAC sheet metal work, HAC controls technicians, and HAC building engineers) required.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ industry experience, or equivalent training and experience in a non-union environment with a minimum of five years’ experience in the HAC field. A minimum of 2,000 hours of professional experience in the field is required.
Qualifications The ideal candidate will maintain the highest possible standards for classroom instruction. Applies innovative teaching and demonstrates ability to work with students at all skill levels. Teaching duties will consist of preparing, instructing, and evaluating ; seeking continuous improvement in teaching and student-centered learning.
