Join a leading company in the Maritime Industry in a critical role on our HR team! Moran Towing Corporation (www.morantug.com) has an exciting opportunity available as a Talent Acquisition Specialist in our Jacksonville, FL office. This is a hybrid role that will require you to work in the office 3 days per week. This full-time, exempt position reports to the Director, Talent Acquisition.
Position Summary
The Talent Acquisition Specialist (TAS) will play a critical role in driving the recruitment strategy for the Moran organization, a leader in the maritime and environmental services industry. This position will focus on identifying, attracting, and securing top talent for the assigned business units/locations to support the company’s operational and strategic goals. The TAS will collaborate with hiring managers, execute full-cycle recruitment processes, and ensure a seamless and positive candidate experience. This role requires a results-driven professional with a passion for talent acquisition, an eye for continuous improvement, all while exhibiting the ability to thrive in an evolving and fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Full-Cycle Recruitment: Manage end-to-end recruitment processes, including creating/updating position descriptions, opening requisitions, sourcing, screening, interviewing, managing the offer process, managing the background/reference check process and onboarding candidates for a variety of roles.
- Candidate Sourcing: Develop innovative sourcing strategies to attract a diverse and qualified talent pool using job boards, social media, networking events, and partnerships with industry organizations.
- Collaboration: Partner with hiring managers to understand business needs, job requirements, and provide strategic guidance throughout the hiring process.
- College/Trade School Recruitment: Partner with operations and department managers on outbound recruitment efforts which includes attending career fairs, partnering with Career Services Departments, networking events etc.
- Employer Branding: Promote Moran’s employer value proposition through various channels to enhance the company's reputation as an employer of choice.
- Compliance: Ensure recruiting practices align with federal, state, and company policies, including affirmative action and equal opportunity employment standards.
- Data and Metrics: Track and analyze recruiting metrics to measure success and identify opportunities for improvement in the hiring process.
- Candidate Experience: Maintain strong communication with candidates to ensure a professional and positive experience throughout the recruitment process.
- Process Improvement: Continuously improve talent acquisition processes to increase efficiency, effectiveness, and alignment with organizational goals.
- Project Work: Participate in and lead projects as assigned, ensuring timely completion and alignment with organizational goals.
- Other Responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5-8 years of experience in talent acquisition or related HR roles.
- Demonstrated experience recruiting for both high volume field-based and corporate positions, with the ability to effectively manage the unique demands and strategies for each type of role.
- Proven success in full-cycle recruiting and sourcing strategies.
- Proficiency in using Indeed, LinkedIn Recruiter and other job boards to source, engage, and attract top talent, with a proven track record of leveraging these platforms to build a strong candidate pipeline.
- Proficiency using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), HRIS, and other recruiting technologies.
- Proficiency using MS Windows 11 Office Suite.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels internally as well as the ability to interact with candidates to positively represent and promote the company.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of employment laws and recruiting compliance standards.
- Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Highest level of integrity in managing and maintaining confidential information.
- Ability to work independently and within a professional, constructive team environment.
- Ability and willingness to work in the Jacksonville, FL office a minimum of 3 days per week.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability and willingness to travel (10%) to various company locations, events as needed; Overnight travel as required by business needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the maritime, transportation, or similar industries is a plus but not required.

Pay Transparency
Moran Towing Corporation offers generous benefits, opportunities for professional growth, and competitive salaries based on geographic location. Our target pay range for the Talent Acquisition Specialist position is $65.000 -$80,000 per year. This pay range represents Moran's commitment to pay transparency and is a reasonable estimate of possible compensation for this role at the time of posting. The final salary for this role will be determined based on careful consideration of a variety of factors, such as the candidate’s exact location, experience, and expertise related to the qualifications.
