Our Bill of Materials Specialist will coordinate the activities related to assuring properly structured bill of materials, item master entry, and document routing changes between engineering, materials and manufacturing. This position will be responsible for the data integrity within these functions. This position will report to our Controller.
Essential Functions Of The Job
- Update various piece parts and assembly Bills of Materials (BOM).
- Troubleshoot inventory discrepancies related to inaccurate BOM/Routing sequencing.
- Support accounting with BOM costing and assist in costing items as requested.
- Confer with various departments’ personnel to assess the changes needed to BOMs.
- When necessary, collaborate with manufacturing engineers to implement process improvements.
- Participate in meetings related to material reviews and dispositions.
- Any other tasks as determined necessary to business pursuits.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, operator's manuals, and assembly instructions.
- Ability to analyze information and processes - identify problems, develop and evaluate options, and implement solutions.
- Skilled and proficient with the use of personal computers; including standard office software (i.e., Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Ability to communicate with various levels within the organization.
- Effective planning and project management skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple projects and priorities.
