What are the responsibilities and job description for the Forklift Operator/Material Handler position at Morcon, Inc.?
Morcon is looking for a skilled individual to operate forklift and clamp truck on third shift. Third shift hours are Sunday- Thursday 11pm-7am.
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for ensuring the unloading and delivery of all raw materials to specified areas in the warehouse and loading finished product onto shipping trucks, while operating a forklift. A Material Handler 2, is certified in all Material Handler 1 responsibilities, and will assist in execution of this work as needed. The ability to manage a fast-paced environment where quality, safety and productivity are key competencies, is required. This role is a safety sensitive position and is subject to an increased frequency of random drug testing and stricter safety requirements. RESPONSIBILITIES:
§ Adhere to all directions from Shift Leader
§ Adhere to all Morcon safety policies and procedures
§ Adhere to all break schedules
§ Inspect forklift and complete inspection checklist on a daily basis
§ Maintain dock areas and bay doors in a clean and safe manner
§ Maintain shipping and receiving trucking schedule
§ Load and/or unload inbound and/or outbound materials or products
§ Maintain finished goods and raw material warehouses in an organized, clean, and safe manner Including, but not limited to, finished goods, paper, boxes, sleeves, bags, tape, shrink wrap and pallets
§ Pick up and wrap finished product pallets from production floor
§ Transfer all finished product pallets to warehouse and stage them in the designated row
§ Organize, wrap, and transfer unused raw material from production floor into inventory when a product changeover occurs
§ Complete product transfer forms and submit at end of each shift
§ Unload, stack and wrap finished good containers, as needed
§ Restack and rewrap finished product pallets, as needed
§ Support in the execution of roll changes as needed
§ Performs other duties as required, including, but not limited to, assisting with Material Handling responsibilities
§ Flexible to work overtime hours when needed
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
§ Must be at least 18 years old
§ Must be safety focused
§ Must be energetic with a positive attitude
§ Must have strong attention to detail
§ Must be highly motivated with the ability to work independently or as a team
§ Must be dependable and have reliable transportation
§ Availability to work any shift
§ Ability to communicate effectively in a diverse work environment
§ Mechanical aptitude is preferred
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & WORKING CONDITIONS:
§ Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs
§ Must be able to stand, walk, push, pull, twist and bend regularly to complete job tasks
§ Use of hands and arms in packing the finished product
§ Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, up to 3 hours
§ Must be able to work in a non-climate controlled environment
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
