Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Associate Pastor to provide pastoral care and oversight for our church community at More Life Church. This role involves strengthening connections within our congregation, enhancing the spiritual growth of our members, and developing leaders to further our mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide pastoral care and oversight for MLC, ensuring the spiritual well-being of our congregation.
- Oversee the Connect ministry to foster engagement and community involvement.
- Manage the new member process, welcoming newcomers and integrating them into our church family.
- Lead, equip, and empower guest service volunteers to create a welcoming atmosphere.
- Continuously improve follow-up methods to ensure guests feel connected and engaged with MLC.
- Implement a leadership development strategy to identify, recruit, train, and coach small group leaders.
- Collaborate with the Lead Pastor to develop content strategies for small groups, incorporating sermon-based lessons and other resources.
- Work alongside ministry team leaders to recruit, train, and empower volunteers across various ministries.
- Plan and coordinate periodic seminars and retreats that facilitate spiritual growth and development.
- Create a congregational pastoral care system to identify and address needs in a timely manner, ensuring congregants feel supported during their circumstances.
- Oversee church membership orientation classes and various connection opportunities for members and newcomers.
- Fill the pulpit as needed and perform weddings, funerals, and hospital visitations and provide counseling services.
Qualifications:
- A strong commitment to pastoral care and a desire to see others grow in their faith.
- Experience in ministry leadership and volunteer development.
- Minimum two-year Bible degree.
- Minimum four years of Ministry experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with church leadership and community members.
- A heart for outreach and connecting with new members.
