Qualifications: Requires high school diploma and training equivalent to two years of college with emphasis in accounting, record keeping, and/or human resources principles. A minimum of two years of experience or equivalent combination of training and experience (as approved by the agency) may be used to meet the minimum qualifications. Position must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong customer service skills.

This is intermediate level administrative work of moderate difficulty and complexity involving a variety of tasks requiring independent work judgments/decisions within established policies, procedures and technical knowledge in a specialty field.
Duties involve responsibility for a significant part of the work process. Assistance is normally available from a superior when unusual or difficult problems arise. This position carries the need to perform a variety of tasks requiring independent decision-making and the interpretation of policies, practices and procedures.
The tasks listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional tasks related to the type of work of the class as necessary. Interprets, explains and gathers information regarding specific program services, policies, and procedures.
- Produce a variety of documents from rough drafts, notes and oral instructions.
- Maintains departmental filing system, including sorting, grading, verifying, filing, and retrieving department office documentation.
- Schedules meetings, conferences, and training events for staff; maintains appointment calendar; schedules appointments; makes travel arrangements.
- Enters routine, technical and specialized data into computer system.

- Provide information to internal and external customers via telephone calls, virtual and/or visits.
- Ensures compliance of procedural and operational guidelines within established timeframes.
- Composes a variety of correspondence to include; letters, memos, and e-mails.
- Processes internal and external contracts regarding specialized programs.
- Assists with development of new programs
- Human Resources duties, setting up files and orientation
- Coordinates efforts with program management and helps maintain and grow professional relationships with appropriate community and school officials
