Job Summary
The Mobile Crisis Worker plays a vital role in providing immediate support and intervention to individuals experiencing a behavioral health crisis. This position requires a compassionate and skilled professional who can assess situations, provide crisis intervention, and connect individuals with appropriate resources. The Mobile Crisis Worker will work collaboratively with community partners to ensure the safety and well-being of clients while promoting recovery-oriented practices.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of individuals in crisis to determine immediate needs and appropriate interventions.
- Provide crisis intervention services, including de-escalation techniques and emotional support.
- Develop and implement individualized crisis plans in collaboration with clients and their families.
- Facilitate access to behavioral health services, including referrals for ongoing care and support.
- Engage in case management activities to coordinate care across multiple service providers.
- Document all interactions, assessments, and interventions accurately and timely in accordance with agency policies.
- Participate in community outreach efforts to educate the public about available resources for mental health crises.
- Collaborate with law enforcement, emergency services, and other community organizations as necessary to ensure client safety.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience in case management, behavioral health, or clinical counseling is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of home community care practices and resources available for individuals in crisis.
- Familiarity with working with individuals on the autism spectrum is a plus.
- Proficiency in group therapy techniques and triage processes is beneficial.
- Strong skills in psychotherapy and behavioral therapy approaches are preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse populations.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.
- Flexibility to respond to crises during various hours as needed; willingness to travel within the designated service area is required.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $20.81 - $25.06 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
