Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Bus Driver to join our team. This role involves safely transporting students from school to our gym facility and then home, ensuring a secure and supportive environment throughout the journey. The ideal candidate must have prior experience in bus or van driving, strong behavior management skills, and the ability to engage positively with children.
Key Responsibilities
- Safe Transportation – Operate a bus or van in compliance with all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Route Management – Follow designated routes from schools to the gym to students’ homes, ensuring timely arrivals and departures.
- Passenger Supervision – Maintain a respectful and orderly environment while managing student behavior effectively.
- Assistance & Safety – Support students, including those with disabilities, during boarding and exiting.
- Vehicle Inspections – Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in safe operating condition.
- Record Keeping – Maintain accurate logs of routes, student attendance, and any incidents.
- Communication – Relay important information clearly and professionally to students, parents, and staff.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience driving a bus or van (school transportation or similar preferred).
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record;
- Previous experience working with children (e.g., school, daycare, or youth programs) is highly desirable.
- Strong behavior management skills to handle various student dynamics.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to perform routine vehicle safety checks.
- Clear communication skills in English, both spoken and written.
- A strong commitment to student safety and well-being.
