FOCUS: Concessions
The Morehead City Marlins (mhcmarlins.com) are one of the most successful teams in the Coastal Plain League which provides collegiate players the opportunity to play competitively in a wood-bat league during the summer months in front of professional scouts, while also providing the local community with an affordable summer entertainment destination everyone can enjoy.
The Marlins play at Big Rock Stadium which is undergoing renovations this off season for the 2025 season.
The Marlins organization has developed a program that prepares its staff for a career in sports. We help our staff succeed in their career objectives by preparing for and learning from actual situations our staff encounters at the ballpark which are discussed and experienced daily.
Here's what we're looking for in an ideal candidate:
- Start date May 19th through approximately August 12th.
- Ability to work approximately 20 hours per week.
- Must work all 26 home games and potential playoff games during the 2025 season.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Concessions Cooks -
- Prepare and cook food items such as burgers, hot dogs, fries, and other ballpark menu items.
- Follow food safety guidelines and ensure proper handling, cooking, and storage of ingredients.
- Maintain a clean and organized cooking station throughout the game.
- Work efficiently to keep up with high-volume orders during peak game times.
- Restock cooking supplies and ingredients as needed.
- Communicate with cashiers and runners to fulfill orders quickly.
- Other duties as assigned.
Concessions Cashiers/Runners -
- Greet customers and process food and beverage orders quickly and accurately.
- Handle cash and credit card transactions using the POS system.
- Ensure all pricing and promotions are correctly applied.
- Provide friendly and helpful customer service, answering questions about menu items.
- Keep the counter area clean and stocked with necessary supplies (napkins, condiments, etc.).
- Assist with restocking snacks, drinks, and grab-and-go items during slower periods.
- Other duties as assigned.
Bartenders -
- Serve alcoholic beverages following legal guidelines.
- Check IDs to verify age and refuse service when necessary.
- Handle cash and card transactions quickly and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized bar area.
- Restock beer and water throughout the game.
- Monitor fan behavior and report intoxicated or unruly guests if necessary.
- Follow all state and stadium alcohol-serving regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
All-You-Can-Eat Attendants -
- Monitor and restock food serving stations.
- Keep the serving area clean and organized.
- Check wristbands to ensure only eligible fans receive food.
- Communicate with the cooks when food supplies are running low.
- Provide customer service, answering any questions about available food.
- Follow food safety and hygiene guidelines.
- Other duties as assigned.
Finn Suite Shop Attendant -
- Greet customers warmly and take dessert orders.
- Handle cash, credit, and mobile payments efficiently.
- Serve dessert items neatly and efficiently.
- Ensure desserts are stored properly.
- Restock inventory and maintain cleanliness at the stand.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience / Qualifications Required:
- High School level
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple task
- Ability to work long hours, evenings and weekends
- Thorough understanding of the rules of baseball
