MOREHEAD CITY MARLINS – PART TIME
FOCUS: Mascot
The Morehead City Marlins (mhcmarlins.com) are one of the most successful teams in the Coastal Plain League which provides collegiate players the opportunity to play competitively in a wood-bat league during the summer months in front of professional scouts, while also providing the local community with an affordable summer entertainment destination everyone can enjoy.
The Marlins play at Big Rock Stadium which is undergoing renovations this off season for the 2025 season.
The Marlins organization has developed a program that prepares its staff for a career in sports. We help our staff succeed in their career objectives by preparing for and learning from actual situations our staff encounters at the ballpark which are discussed and experienced daily.
Here's what we're looking for in an ideal candidate:
- Ability to work year round.
- Ability to work events as booked in the off season.
- Must work all 26 home games and potential playoff games during the 2025 season.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Participate in pre-game ceremonies (e.g., high-fiving fans, on-field introductions).
- Interact with fans at the gates as they enter.
- Pose for photos and sign autographs.
- Participate in in-between-inning promotions and skits with the promotions team.
- Dance, gesture, and use exaggerated body language to entertain fans.
- Work with the PA announcer and on-field host to time mascot appearances correctly.
- Visit local schools, youth baseball games, and community events to promote the team.
- Be comfortable with physical activity, including running, jumping, dancing, and carrying props.
- Ensure mascot brand consistency and positivity at every event.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience / Qualifications Required:
- College level
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple task
- Ability to work long hours, evenings and weekends
- Thorough understanding of the rules of baseball
