The Morehead City Marlins (mhcmarlins.com) are one of the most successful teams in the Coastal Plain League which provides collegiate players the opportunity to play competitively in a wood-bat league during the summer months in front of professional scouts, while also providing the local community with an affordable summer entertainment destination everyone can enjoy.
The Marlins play at Big Rock Stadium which is undergoing renovations this off season for the 2025 season.
The Marlins organization has developed a program that prepares its staff for a career in sports. We help our staff succeed in their career objectives by preparing for and learning from actual situations our staff encounters at the ballpark which are discussed and experienced daily.
Here's what we're looking for in an ideal candidate:
- Start date May 19th through approximately August 12th.
- Ability to work approximately 20 hours per week.
- Must work all 26 home games and potential playoff games during the 2025 season.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Scan tickets at designated entry gates to verify valid admission.
- Ensure fans enter through the correct gates.
- Prevent duplicate, counterfeit, or invalid tickets from being used.
- Keep the entry lines moving efficiently while maintaining accuracy.
- Greet fans with a friendly and welcoming attitude.
- Assist fans with ticket issues, such lost tickets or seating confusion.
- Provide directions to seating areas, concessions, restrooms, and guest services.
- Answer general questions about the stadium, promotions, and game-day events.
- Ensure fans are not bringing prohibited items (e.g., outside food, bags, weapons).
- Work with security to address any potential entry concerns.
- Monitor entry ensuring that there is no reentry
- Assist with entry/exit monitoring for late arrivals or special event access.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience / Qualifications Required:
- High School level
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple task
- Ability to work long hours, evenings and weekends
- Thorough understanding of the rules of baseball
