This position is responsible for planning, administering, promoting, and managing the Master of Science in Health Informatics (MSHI) Program implementation and marketing.
The Program Director of the Online MSHI Program will also closely monitor student recruitment, student tracking, student advisement, curriculum development, faculty evaluation, and day-to-day operations of the Online MSHI program, including external partnership development.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Contribute to the formation, enforcement and tracking of policies that ensure program sustainability and success and that impact student outcomes and learning.
2. Provide strategic leadership to grow the Online MSHI program.
3. Work closely with the MSHI Curriculum Committee to assist in curriculum development for the Online MSHI Program
4. Assist the GEBS Assessment & Operations Director in assessing plans, outcomes and learning objectives to provide the best and most relevant education to students
5. Develop, implement, and/or design programs directly related to recruiting students for the Online MSHI Program
6. Work effectively and collaboratively with individuals/stakeholders to maintain and further develop the Online MSHI program(s) and related combined degrees at MSM.
7. Participate in GEBS Assessment & Operations administrative activities related to the Online MSHI program.
8. Promote and market the MSHI program in collaboration with the OEEP Dean and Marketing/Communication Department
9. Assists in developing course content and other curricular materials used for instruction and the benefit of MSM students.
10. Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts in course design and developing new courses.
11. Submit requested information promptly to support administrative and/or accreditation requirements.
12. Attract and maintain a faculty workforce that is competent in the requisite elements of the courses they teach and invested in the success of MSHI learners
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
- Doctoral degree in health informatics or equivalent degree in a related field
- Highly preferred experience in teaching online courses.
- Knowledge of graduate course development, planning, and evaluation principles and practices.
- Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related institutional policies and procedures.
- Ability to prepare clear and concise reports, correspondence, and other written materials.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and Project) and SmartSheet software.
- Proficiency with the features and functions of online learning management systems; builds and maintains positive working relationships with MSM employees and the public.
- Skill in managing various tasks simultaneously with competing deadlines, with minimum supervision, effectively and efficiently.
- Skill in working independently and with minimal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A doctoral degree or equivalent is preferred. Minimum three years of administrative or teaching experience, including one year of experience in online graduate course management. PC skills and knowledge of specified software, including two years of experience using computers and various software packages, i.e., Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, SmartSheet, etc.
