Music Teacher, $6,000 sign-on Bonus

Moreland serves Preschool-8th grade students across three cities in Santa Clara County. Our teachers educate approximately 4,000 students in four elementary schools, two TK-8 schools and one middle school. Teachers are provided regular preparation time, collaboration time, and professional development. Students are offered a wide variety of programs to support their academic, social and emotional growth.

• Provide for adequate learning experiences within the framework of the prescribed curriculum.
• Help each child in developing an understanding of himself leading to a positive self-concept and an awareness of the need for attitudes and actions which will result in good citizenship.
• Provide planned learning experiences which will adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil.
• Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior needed to provide an effective learning environment.
• Evaluate pupils' academic and social growth, keep appropriate records, prepare progress reports and communicate with parents as needed on the individual pupil's progress.
• Identify pupil's needs and cooperate with other professional staff members in assessing and helping to solve pupils' health, attitude and learning problems.
• Create with pupil; involvement in a functional and attractive environment for learning.
• Select and requisition books, instructional aids, and instructional supplies, and maintain appropriate inventory records.
• Supervise pupils in out-of-classroom activities during the working day.
• Participate in curriculum improvement and other developmental programs within the school assignment and/or on a district level.
• Share in the responsiblilities for school activities.
• May plan and coordinate the work of student teachers and staff assistants.
• Unless otherwise defined, are responsible to the school principal.
• Follow district policies and regulations and the terms of the contract.

Comments and Other Information

Moreland offers annual stipends for certificated employees who hold a Master's degree, national board certification, and special education credential. Moreland contributes to medical benefits in the following amounts annually for full-time certificated employees: $11,275 single, $18,655 two-party; $23,472. Moreland also contributes to dental and vision benefits. Certificated employees are provided with a term life insurance policy of $2,000 at no cost. Credentialed employees receive full credit for out-of-district experience in a comparable public school setting. Salary, stipends, and district contribution to benefits are pro-rated by FTE.
