Description

SUMMARY

To develop new business and service existing accounts in accordance with ethical and professional standards of the agency.

Essential Functions & Responsibilites

  • Develop and achieve maximum sales volume consistent with sales projections
  • Seek out new clients and develop clientele by networking to find new customers and generate lists of prospective clients through community activities, association meetings, cold calling and other leads that turn prospects into clients
  • Attend meetings, seminars and programs to learn about new products and services, learn new skills, and receive technical assistance in developing new accounts
  • Interview prospective clients to secure information about their current coverage and future needs, to analyze insurance program and suggest additions or changes’
  • Develop marketing strategies to compete with other individuals or companies who sell insurance
  • Direct work activities and priorities of Account Managers
  • Review quotes and negotiate with underwriter premiums on the account
  • Review RFP’s for accuracy before going out to present to prospects and clients
  • Present proposals to prospects and clients with the goal of closing sales
  • Call on policyholders to deliver and explain policy, to analyze insurance program and suggest additions or changes
  • Promote agency and insurance industry in the community
  • Maintain production reports and attend sales meetings
  • Keep informed of industry developments through review of trade press and by attending company training meetings on new products
  • Collecting Money owed by the insured
  • Perform other duties and projects as may be assigned by Officers

Qualifications

  • Demonstrate skills of persuasion and negotiation
  • Professional, well-groomed and neat in appearance
  • High degree of self-discipline and motivation
  • College degree preferred
  • Technical education (CEBS) helpful and willingness to continue education is essential
  • Successful sales experience helpful
  • Willing and able to travel extensively and to attend agent's conventions and other industry meetings if so instructed
  • Holds current Utah Producer Accident & Health, Life License
