Responsibilities
This person is directly responsible for management of workers engaged in setting up, installing, repairing and maintaining process/production equipment, machinery and utilities in all areas of the plant. Supervises and follows up on the quality of work and the progress toward meeting deadlines. Trains, provides guidance, and directs the activities of all subordinates during the scheduled shift and directs subordinate supervisors to do the same in their assigned areas. In doing so he/she enforces maintenance guidelines, company rules, plant safety regulations, arranges for coverage of unexpected absenteeism, and maintains required process and department records to ensure effective and productive performance. He/she also determines, recommends, and coordinates department staffing and equipment needs.
Qualifications
Essential Functions:
Minimum Qualifications and Education Requirements
Associate degree or advanced manufacturing training equivalent to two years, or equivalent manufacturing experience. Requires strong mathematical skills, mechanical attitude, good comprehension, and ability to use standard systems in completing activities.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be familiar with Microsoft Word-Processing and Spreadsheet (Excel) software
- Must be able to clearly present ideas and reports in written and verbal format
- Must be able to read engineering drawings and specifications.
- Must be able to work well with subordinates, peers and superiors in all departments of the Company
- Must be able to work well with external contacts of the Company
- Must have good time management, planning and negotiation skills
- Must adhere to all Company policies
Physical Requirements:
- Must be capable of sitting and using a computer for the majority of an 8-hour workday
- Must be capable of walking and standing for the majority of an 8-hour workday
- Must be capable of climbing stairs
- Must be able to lift 35 pounds
