Product Engineer

Location: Houston, TX 77041
Hours: M-F 8am-5pm, 100% in office
Pay: $45/hr
The Product Engineer is responsible for designing and developing products to meet specifications provided by management, sales, or marketing. This role involves creating system layouts, 3D models, and drawings, while ensuring designs meet material, manufacturing, and quality standards. The engineer will collaborate with internal teams to resolve design issues and ensure product compatibility. A background in mechanical engineering with electrical expertise is preferred, and experience with fluid pump systems is beneficial.
Responsibilities:
- Design and package systems with focus on DFM and cost efficiency.
- Create detailed drawings and 3D models.
- Interpret engineering plans for correct component orientation and material lists.
- Identify design flaws and recommend solutions.
- Apply industry standards (ASME, ANSI, ISO, CSA).
- Conduct research and support testing for new products.
- Maintain product specifications and BOMs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for product development.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of design/drafting experience.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
- Experience with industrial electrical design and NEC/CEC standards.
- Knowledge of ASME codes, Piping Codes B31.1 & B31.3, and other relevant standards.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Inventor, Pro-E, and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of fluid dynamics
- Experience with pressure vessel and structural skid design preferred.
- Strong communication and multitasking skills.
