Job description
Morgan Contracting, Inc. is hiring a Junior Estimator to join our Estimating Department for construction projects ranging from Underground Utilities/Pipelines, Water/Wastewater Treatment Facilities, Pump Stations, Tunnels, and Civil Construction:
- Assist in preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
- Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents to identify key project requirements and scope of work.
- Support senior estimators in analyzing historical data, current market trends, and potential risks to produce competitive and realistic bids.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to gather pricing information and ensure all components of the project are covered in the estimate.
- Participate in site visits and inspections to gather data for accurate cost forecasting and identify any potential cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintain and update estimate databases, track bid submissions, and assist in the preparation of cost reports and documentation for future reference.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil/mechanical engineering, construction management, or a related field, or equivalent work experience in the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and cost structures, with the ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Proficiency in estimating software (HCSS a plus) and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and ability to work with large data sets.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate across teams and with external stakeholders (e.g., subcontractors and suppliers).Compensation is base salary plus performance-based bonuses. Compensation is negotiable based on education and experience.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
