What are the responsibilities and job description for the Land Survey Technician position at Morgan Engineering?
Responsibilities:
- Conduct field surveys and data collection using various surveying equipment and techniques
- Set up and operate surveying instruments such as total stations, GPS receivers, and levels
- Perform calculations and analysis to determine precise measurements and coordinates
- Prepare accurate survey reports, maps, and drawings using CAD software
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other professionals to ensure accurate survey data for project planning and design
- Monitor and maintain surveying equipment to ensure proper functioning
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while working on construction sites or in hazardous environments
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Party Chief or similar role in land surveying or civil engineering projects
- Proficiency in math, algebra, and data analysis skills for accurate calculations
- Strong knowledge of surveying principles, techniques, and equipment operation
- Experience with CAD software (such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation) for creating maps and drawings
- Familiarity with ArcGIS, Revit, or other relevant software is a plus
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team
