Municipal Field Inspector
Job description
The Municipal Inspector is based out of our Island Heights, NJ office working on field assignments across multiple Counties in New Jersey, primarily central New Jersey. Responsibilities will include field inspection of capital improvements, bonded improvements and developer escrow inspections. Specifically roadway, utility, site construction, etc. Additionally, the position will include construction administration and inspection for infrastructure projects, utility installations, concrete work, roadway reconstruction, site development, grading and drainage structures.
Job Duties:
o Perform field inspections to confirm construction is accordance with approved plans
o Read construction plans, details, specifications
o Hold pre-construction meetings
o Knowledge of Zoning and Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance Regulations a plus.
o Detailed documentation and reporting of events
Job Qualifications
- 0 to 10 years of related municipal engineering/construction experience or possess relevant work experience
- Valid driver's license, valid personal insurance, and a personal vehicle to travel to various sites during a given work day (note: company will reimburse you for the miles traveled for the company)
- Desire and ability to perform field inspections
· Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel. AutoCad experience a plus.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Independent and critical thinking abilities
- Self-starter who can work independently and with team members
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $35.00 per hour
