What are the responsibilities and job description for the Process Engineer position at Morgan Human Capital Management?
The Process Engineer is the primary point of contact for all matters concerning the manufacturing systems and processes at the Borger Plant. The incumbent acts as the on-shift subject matter expert on the manufacturing process and technical matters that relate to production and quality.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify and recommend process improvements that will increase yield and reduce cost.
- Troubleshoot and optimize the production process and act as subject matter expert for all production-related technical matters.
- Support capital projects, technical and design reviews, incident investigations, HAZOP studies and other initiatives.
- Drive standardization across shifts, optimize fixed and variable unit costs, improve quality, and work closely with maintenance to ensure that work is completed promptly.
- Provide technical expertise to ensure that the DCS effectively monitors and manages plant operations; instruct and train employees on proper utilization of the DCS system.
- Maintain accurate records, process metrics and documentation according to guidelines, and prepare both regular and special reports.
- Perform regular walk-arounds and inspections to ensure good housekeeping, compliance, hazard recognition, etc.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental polices and procedures.
Qualifications:
- This position requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering. A degree in chemical engineering is strongly preferred.
- One to three years of operations or process engineering experience in refining or specialty chemicals manufacturing are preferred; however, internships may count toward this experience requirement for a new graduate.
- Experience configuring, troubleshooting, and operating distributed control systems (DCS) in a plant or refinery or the ability to become proficient in DCS operations is a strong plus.
- Basic familiarity with pumps, dryers, ventilators, hydraulics, high temperature applications, reactors, motors, and other common types of process equipment is required.
Salary : $110,000 - $125,000
