What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chief Executive Officer position at Morgan Hunter HealthSearch?
Graham County Hospital (GCH), located in Hill City, Kansas, has an outstanding opportunity for a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), due to the impending retirement of Melissa Atkins, who has served as CEO since 2012 (was also CFO from 2008-2023). Morgan Hunter HealthSearch has been retained to assist with the search.
GCH is a county owned, critical access hospital and rural health clinic with annual net patient revenues of approximately $8M. The CEO reports to the five-member elected GCH Board of Trustees and is responsible for general management and supervision of all aspects of the organization, including operations, financial, and service line development.
GCH is seeking an energetic, strategic and visionary leader to guide GCH through the complex issues currently facing healthcare organizations. The CEO will demonstrate excellent communication and relationship skills and have the ability to work with a diverse group of people, including the board, staff, physicians, donors, community partners and patients. We seek individuals that will foster a culture of collaboration, be approachable, thoughtful, ethical and possess the business acumen to maintain and enhance the organization’s financial viability. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required and a master’s degree in hospital administration or related field, as well as FACHE-designation, is preferred. Experience in Critical Access Hospital designation is strongly preferred.
