Accounting Manager
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager with 5 years of accounting experience and an active CPA certification. Construction industry experience is highly preferred. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, and ERP systems. This role will oversee the daily accounting functions, ensure compliance with GAAP, and lead a team of accounting professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management & Reporting:
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare, analyze, and present financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and variance reports to senior management.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and company policies.
- Monitor cash flow, accounts payable, and accounts receivable to ensure financial stability.
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax professionals for audits, tax filings, and financial reviews.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of accountants and accounting staff.
- Assign tasks, review work, and provide training and professional development opportunities.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Process Improvement & ERP Management:
- Oversee ERP system implementation, optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Develop and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to improve efficiency and reduce risk.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance workflow automation and reporting capabilities.
Construction Industry-Specific Responsibilities:
- Manage job costing, WIP (work-in-progress) reporting, and revenue recognition in accordance with industry standards.
- Oversee subcontractor and vendor payments, lien waivers, and contract compliance.
- Ensure proper tracking of fixed assets, depreciation, and project accounting.
Strategic Planning & Collaboration:
- Work closely with senior leadership, project managers, and operations teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
- Assist in evaluating financial risks, cost controls, and profitability analysis.
- Support financial planning, budgeting, and long-term strategy development.
Qualifications:
- CPA certification required.
- 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
- Extensive experience with ERP systems, including implementation and optimization.
- Proven leadership experience in managing accounting teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
