Responsibilities:
- Analyze and summarize large volumes of legal documents, identifying key information for case strategy.
- Manage multiple insurance defense cases from inception to resolution, adhering to carrier guidelines.
- Draft legal documents, pleadings, discovery responses, case summaries, and correspondence.
- Conduct legal research using Westlaw and other platforms to support case development.
- Assist in preparing trial exhibits, deposition summaries, and evidence presentations.
- Request, review, and organize medical records, financial records, and other case materials.
- Maintain case calendars, track deadlines, and ensure timely filing of legal documents.
- Respond to discovery requests, gather information from clients, and coordinate with opposing counsel.
- Communicate with clients, witnesses, experts, and court personnel regarding case proceedings.
- Assist attorneys in trial preparation, including organizing case files and drafting trial binders.
- Ensure compliance with court rules, procedural guidelines, and client expectations.
Requirements:
- 3 years of paralegal experience.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to sift through complex legal documents and identify relevant information.
- Bachelor's degree or paralegal certification preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office and legal research tools (Westlaw experience a plus).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience billing hours in a legal setting is a plus.
