SENIOR ACCOUNTANT
Our client is a leading manufacturing organization in the Kansas City Metro Area; they are looking to hire a Senior Accountant. With a large and growing accounting and finance team, there is significant opportunity for growth and advancement within the department. RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SENIOR ACCOUNTANT
- Analyzing and preparing financial reports and records
- Making recommendations based on analysis of assets and expenditures
- Maintain schedules, prepare and record journal entries to ensure accuracy
- Verify, allocate, post and reconcile transactions
- Perform variance analyses and prepare account reconciliations
- Assist with financial and tax audits
- Analyze financial information and summarize financial status
- Coordinate accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting and finance team or with other departments
- Knowledge of accounting principles and familiarity with GAAP
- Support month-end and year-end close process
EXPERIENCE PREFERRED FOR THE SENIOR ACCOUNTANT ROLE:
- Highly detail-oriented and organized
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with accounting software and programs
- BS Degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant work experience
