Morgan Medical Center is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Engineering Department Manager to oversee the operation, and maintenance of our hospital’s critical infrastructure. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with expertise in facilities management to contribute to the safe and efficient functioning of a healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Engineering Department to ensure the safe and efficient operation of all hospital building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire/life safety.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance and inspection programs for all hospital systems and equipment to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations, building codes, and safety standards.
- Maintain and update facilities management documentation and asset management systems.
- Collaborate with hospital leadership and other departments to identify and resolve facility-related issues that may impact patient care or staff operations.
- Manage vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and service agreements for outsourced services.
- Provide guidance and training to staff on safety protocols, equipment operations, and maintenance best practices.
- Respond to emergency situations and facility-related issues in a timely and effective manner.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in managing projects and leading teams.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of hospital building systems, equipment, and regulatory requirements (e.g., NFPA, Joint Commission, OSHA).
- Experience in facilities management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within a healthcare or hospital setting.
- Familiarity with hospital facility management software and work order management systems.
