WBKB-TV in Alpena, MI, is seeking an Anchor / Managing Editor to join their team. As the Anchor / Managing Editor, you will deliver news stories, conduct interviews, and present information to the audience professionally and engagingly. You will also oversee the editorial content and manage a team of multimedia journalists.
In addition to your on-air presentation, your day-to-day tasks will include assigning and reviewing news stories, ensuring accuracy and adherence to MMM journalistic standards, and collaborating with the production team to deliver high-quality news content. This is an on-site role.
What You’ll Bring :
- Proven experience in journalism and the newsroom
- A strong understanding of journalistic ethics and standards
- Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
- Proficiency in digital content creation and social media platforms
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and to changing news priorities.
- Strong leadership and solid communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, Communications, or related field
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Excellent on-camera presence and charisma
- Strong research and interviewing skills
- Ability to work as a team.
- Previous experience as an Anchor or in a similar role is preferred.
