Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, LLC seeks an Assistant Vice President in New York, New York
Collaborate with business partners to identify business problems and how they relate to the organization's key strategic objectives. Design customized analytical solutions with a project plan, hypotheses development, methodology review, and timeline for delivering actionable insights, recommendations, and next steps. Develop large analytical datasets, research trends, develop baseline view of business metrics and drivers, and iterate through a comprehensive analysis in close partnership with the stakeholders. Seek process, programming, and data structure enhancements to improve team's analytic throughput at scale. Identify opportunities to deploy learnings, methodology and logic to drive broader strategic objectives.
Salary: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $137,400 and $137,400 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
Requirements:
Requires a Master's degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, or a related field of study and two (2) years of experience in the position offered or two (2) years as an Analyst, or a closely related occupation. Requires two (2) years of experience with: programming languages including Python, pandas, NumPy, and R; MS Excel including pivot, vlookup, macros, and VBA; writing SQL queries to develop end-to-end analytical solutions including creating client segmentations, and analyzing transactions and client behavior using relational databases; monitoring a team of business analysts for accurate data collection, processing, modeling, and analysis; using data visualizations including Tableau dashboards to tracking client KPIs, business trends and forecasts, and outlier detection in real time; interpreting and reconciling financial metrics including net revenues, and annual sales; designing analytical experiments including Test-Control, hypothesis testing, and statistical significance measurement.
