Within GSO, the Inclusive Ventures Group helps run Morgan Stanley Inclusive & Sustainable Ventures (MSISV). MSISV provides early-stage innovators with access to capital and resources to help them develop and scale. Roles & Responsibilities
Associate, Morgan Stanley Inclusive & Sustainable Ventures:
The ideal candidate has a fundamental knowledge of financial analysis including company valuation and investment analysis; experience and/or interest in venture capital investing; start-up operations; and can manage large, multidimensional projects.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $80,000 and $115,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.

Roles & Responsibilities
Associate, Morgan Stanley Inclusive & Sustainable Ventures:
- Interact and provide strategic support on a day-to-day basis to the MSISV companies and program alumni.
- Assist the broader team, including Entrepreneurs in Residence (EIRs), in providing critical operational, analytical and strategic insights to help accelerate the growth of MSISV companies.
- Facilitate calls and introductions between MSISV companies, external parties and senior employees from around the firm.
- Assist the broader team in planning, coordinating and executing on the 5-month in-house accelerator program.
- Participate in the identification, investment memo creation and selection of the companies that will participate in the accelerator program, including assisting in the performance of financial due diligence, market research, competitive analysis, identifying market/investment trends and analyzing products.
- Synthesize analyses into meaningful deliverables/presentations for senior management and external stakeholders.
- Create standard and custom executive reporting packages/presentations on a monthly, quarterly and ad‐hoc basis.
- Provide support to senior management in broadening Morgan Stanley’s founder community engagement and venture capital universe coverage.

Skills Required
- 0-2 years proven experience working with financial services or early-stage companies
- Exceptional analytical skills with a fundamental understanding of corporate finance principals including strong financial modeling.
- Experience creating investment memos or evaluating companies for investment.
- Strong interest in developments around technology, startups, entrepreneurship, and venture capital.
- Execution skills with the ability to manage projects with minimal supervision in small teams. Therefore, very high attention to detail is critical in addition to sound judgment and the ability to fully operate with general to limited context.
- Program management and operational skills (prior experience with application processes, running workshops, conferences) or an interest in developing these skills.
- Writing, communication (both internal and external) and presentation delivery skills.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Mastery of the Microsoft Office Suite, with high proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint required.
- Proactive self‐starter and creative problem solver with a keen interest in the diverse/women business sector, impact sectors, venture capital investing and start-up operations.
- Knowledge of impact investing/sustainable sector helpful but not required.
