The position resides within Investment Management Finance (IM Finance) which is a department dedicated to providing support to Morgan Stanley's Investment Management segment (MSIM) a leading global asset manager across the public and private markets. Members of the IM Finance team can expect to be involved in accounting, finance, and process transformation.
Description of the Role
The Investment Management Accounting Services team (IMAS) is part of the Finance Division and supports the Investment Management (IM) business.
This role will contribute to all aspects of the revenue cycle associated with the Division's Separately Managed Account business. Primary responsibilities include the calculation and verification of revenue accruals, preparation of client invoices, cash receipt application and generation of Accounts Receivable reports for the segment.
Primary Responsibilities
> Execute and review management fee calculations across various investment strategies and product types.
> Perform month-end close processes across several legal entities and investment teams including preparation of monthly general ledger journal entries, account reconciliation and fluctuation analysis and processing of cash receipts.
> Create and distribute client invoices adhering to client specifications and firm guidelines.
> Track and monitor management fee activity for the Division's Accounts Receivable balances.
> Prepare account reconciliation, analysis and supporting documentation for balance sheet reviews.
> Contribute to the completion and compliance with monthly Sarbanes Oxley 404 internal controls. Qualifications
> Bachelor's degree in finance/accounting or related field with 5-7 years related experience.
> Exhibit strong attention to detail and follow up.
> Strong technical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
> Experience with SAP general ledger and accounts receivable software a plus.
> Experience with REVPORT or other management fee calculation and invoicing application a plus.

Salary range for the position: $75,000.00-$120,000.00 Yr. The successful candidate may be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
