The Financial Control Group (FCG) is responsible for overseeing the accounting and financial and regulatory reporting for the Firm. FCG prepares external financial reports for public filings and regulators. For internal reporting FCG, along with Financial Planning and Analysis (FPA), summarizes, plans and forecasts the organization's financial position, including income statements, balance sheets, and analyses of future revenues, expenses and earnings. FCG is comprised of Business Unit Controllers, Infrastructure Controllers, Accounting, Regulatory and Reporting groups, and Valuation Review.
We are looking for a director level Product Owner who is an energetic leader and enjoys working with teams to design and deliver exceptional products to internal clients. You will be embedded in a Squad and work directly with its members to prioritize and manage outputs and goals. Partnering with Squad members will be key - you are an employee-first leader and will embody that in how you approach your work. You will coordinate closely with your Fleet Lead to stay aligned on business goals and make sure your Squad is progressing and delivering against them. You will also represent the voice of the business and ensure that Squad members understand their needs and preferences. To get this work done, you will maintain and prioritize the backlog of user stories that your squad members will use to inform their work.
Responsibilities Include:
> Work on development, support and enhancements to existing compensation plans
> Create user stories to capture the requirements for the squad
> Maintain a healthy, prioritized, backlog for refinement with the squad
> Plan two-week sprint intervals of backlog stories for the squad to deliver
> Coordinate testing during and after business hours
> Act as a leader of project teams in support of various initiatives and compensation plan modifications
> Ability to lead a cross-functional team through influence
> Troubleshoot issues, solving independently or escalating to Development Team
> Proactively identify new opportunities and act on them, including identifying automation opportunities
> Maintain and continuously improve compensation platform and control procedures Skills Required:
> 5-8 years of professional experience
> AGILE exposure/experience specifically as a Product Owner
> Education: BS/BA Accounting/Finance or related work experience
> Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and JIRA
> Must be detail oriented, organized, analytical, results oriented, motivated, dependable, and flexible
> Excellent presentation skills including oral and written communication skills
> Personable, able to interface with clients, peers and managers
> Must be able to handle multiple tasks in a deadline driven environment
> Proven analytical skills and experience making decisions based on hard and soft data
Skills Desired:
> Experience in Wealth Management or Financial Services
> Full life-cycle project experience (analysis->testing->implementation)
> Exposure to Financial processes and/or Financial Reporting
> Previous experience with Tableau and/or Business Objects

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $80,000 and $135,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
