This position is responsible for transporting, loading, and unloading steel materials within the warehouse and production areas while adhering to all safety regulations and operational procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to move steel products and raw materials safely and efficiently.
Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper stacking and secure transport of materials.
Inspect forklifts before and after use, reporting any maintenance or safety concerns.
Assist in organizing and maintaining warehouse inventory for optimal space utilization.
Work closely with warehouse and production teams to ensure timely material movement.
Follow all company safety protocols and OSHA guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
Maintain accurate records of inventory movement and deliveries.
Perform additional tasks as needed to support warehouse and production operations.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Minimum of 1-2 years of forklift operation experience, preferably in a steel or heavy manufacturing environment.
Valid forklift operator certification required (or willingness to obtain).
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a physically demanding environment.
