We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Louisville. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in accounting and possess strong analytical skills. This role is vital in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in the monthly close process, including the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliation, and completion of credit card and bank account reconciliations.
- Assist in Accounts Receivable tasks such as applying cash receipts, managing collections of past due balances, and processing daily invoices and credits.
- Work with Accounts Payable by handling vendor invoices, disbursement filing, and matching and filing of A/P invoices.
- Identify and reconcile discrepancies by examining source materials, reconstructing probable actions, and understanding their impact on other accounts; prepare corrective actions as necessary.
- Execute AR/AP tasks across multiple entities and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations and participate in sales tax computations.
- Manage General Ledger and account reconciliation and analysis.
- Perform bank reconciliation and provide daily bank updates.
- Post monthly accrual journal entries, as well as manage fixed assets and depreciation.
- Carry out routine clerical accounting tasks within a dynamic finance department while adhering to established standards.
- Prepare and interpret financial summaries and deliver reports to management on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Contribute to financial reporting, prepare supporting schedules, and analyze financial data.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting.
- Experience with logistics, construction, cost or job costing
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
