Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for pet owners, providing exceptional customer service while managing the front desk operations of our veterinary clinic. Familiarity with veterinary terminology and procedures is essential to ensure effective communication with both clients and veterinary staff.
Duties
- Greet clients and their pets warmly, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
- Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar efficiently.
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding services, procedures, and pet care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all information is up-to-date.
- Process payments and manage billing inquiries.
- Assist veterinary staff with administrative tasks as needed.
- Provide information on pet care, medication administration, and post-treatment instructions.
- Handle animal restraint and assist with basic animal care when necessary.
- Ensure the front desk area is organized and presentable at all times.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology and procedures, including critical care and medication administration.
- Skills in animal catheterization, animal restraint, and general pet care are highly desirable.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing records and scheduling.
- Excellent verbal communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members.
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a calm demeanor.
