What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Inspector - NDT Level 2 Certification position at Morgner Construction Management Corp.?
We are currently looking for a Special Inspector with a NDT Level 2 Certification by the American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT). The Special Inspector will handle the post installed concrete anchor testing.
The following items are considered as a description of a scope of work:
Perform inspections to comply with owner’s Specifications for fabrication, supply, installation,
and testing of structural components for anchoring Overhead Contact System (OCS) structural
steel and OCS metal fabrications to existing and new concrete.
Oversee testing in accordance with ACI 355.2 and ASTM E488.
Perform inspection of Installation of post-installed anchors in accordance with the QA
requirements of the anchor manufacturer.
Inspector shall submit test reports summarizing post-installed concrete anchor load test results
Education – Certifications Requirements:
American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) Level II or Level III certification through the ASNT Central Certification Program (ACCP); or - Personnel qualified in accordance with a nationally recognized NDT personnel qualifications practice or standard, such as ANSI/ASNT CP-189 or ASNT TC-1A as determined by an ASNT Level III
Computer Knowledge – Other Skills
This position requires excellent written and oral communication with strong organizational skills.
Experience with Microsoft Business software products are a must. Must be able to work with others, work in the field, be a self-starter, and be able create order out of chaos.
Notes:
This position requires some light travel with occasional night and weekend work. Must be able to drive and have a valid driver's license.
