Position Purpose
Mechanic performs tasks related to the repair, maintenance and servicing of small, hand tools for construction equipment. Mechanic will also be responsible for the delivery of equipment and materials to jobsites.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Perform inspection, diagnosis, maintenance and repairs on a wide variety of small hand tools and power tools used in construction
• Perform inspection, repair and service on corded and cordless power tools
• Ability to prioritize tasks
• Ordering necessary replacement parts and supplies to process orders
• Drive company delivery truck to deliver various tools and equipment to jobsites.
• Follow safety protocols and procedures when working on equipment and driving company truck.
Other Job Functions:
• Evaluate time requirements for tool repairs and advise on whether it is more cost effective to order new versus repair old
• Attend regular staff and safety meetings
• Perform cleaning duties as required at the yard and on trucks
• Keep working area clean and organized
Supervisory Requirements:
• No Supervisory requirements at this time
Interactions:
• Daily communication with employees at the yard
• Superintendents, Project Managers, Project Engineers, and other Morley personnel
• Vendors, Environmental Agency personnel, City, County, etc.
Requirements
Education/Training:
• Trade or Technical College certification in mechanics
• Some form of gas / pneumatic, electrical / battery power equipment training or repair certification
Experience Required:
• 3-5 years of experience with electrical, battery and gas-powered equipment, construction equipment preferred
Physical Demands:
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Intermittent walking to gain access to work areas
• Ability to bend, crouch, work on ground
• Hearing sufficient to communicate with individuals by telephone and in person
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Eyesight sufficient to decipher label markings, model and serial numbers
Work Environment:
• Outside at yard and jobsite locations with moderate to loud noise
