Are you passionate about supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and helping them build life skills? Morning Star is excited to introduce a new Life Skills Staff position focused on community-based support in homes for those with developmental disabilities (DD). We are seeking dedicated individuals for full-time or part-time opportunities!

What You’ll Do:

· Provide supervision and ensure client safety, which may include de-escalation and intervention strategies.

· Support clients in learning daily living skills like cooking, banking, shopping, and hygiene.

· Facilitate care coordination, through assessment, evaluations, planning, and implementation.

· Maintain knowledge of local resources and assist families in accessing services.

· Complete documentation and communicate with state and court agencies as needed.

· Demonstrate professional boundaries and be a positive role model by using teachable moments to teach life skills and self-awareness concepts.

· Participate in training and implement policies and treatment plans that align with our mission and meet program standards.

What We’re Looking For:

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in psychology, sociology, social work, education, child development, or related field and.
• At least one year of experience working with individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities.
• Experience supporting individuals in crisis (for stabilization services) preferred.

Additional Requirements:

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid Driver’s License & proof of auto insurance.
• Ability to pass a federal & state background check.
• First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to engage in physical activities (walking, running, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs.)

Pay: $23.50-$27.00 per hour depending on education and experience
