Position Summary:
Morning Star Supportive Services is seeking enthusiastic and compassionate Community Inclusion Staff to facilitate community-based activities and foster engagement for individuals with developmental disabilities. This role focuses on promoting independence, enhancing social skills, and encouraging participation in recreational, educational, and vocational activities in the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and facilitate community-based activities aligned with the goals of each individual’s Individualized Service Plan (ISP).
- Encourage and assist individuals in developing social skills, participating in group activities, and building positive relationships.
- Support individuals in accessing resources and participating in recreational, cultural, and educational activities.
- Provide transportation to and from community outings while ensuring client safety.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of activities and progress toward goals.
- Promote independence by encouraging self-advocacy and decision-making skills.
- Foster an inclusive, supportive, and respectful environment.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Experience:
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities (preferred).
- Passion for community engagement and advocacy.
- Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (required).
- Ability to pass background checks and comply with DDD requirements.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Energetic and enthusiastic about facilitating activities and building connections.
