Morning Star Supportive Services is a proud provider of services through the New Jersey Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD). Since 2021, we have served over 150 individuals across New Jersey, empowering them to live fulfilling lives at home and in their communities. Our mission is to provide compassionate, high-quality support to individuals with developmental disabilities by offering personalized care and meaningful engagement through direct support staff.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Program Director to oversee and manage the daily operations of our programs. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality services, maintaining compliance with state regulations, and leading a team of dedicated staff. The ideal candidate is passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities and has a strong background in program management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Oversight:
  • Oversee and manage all programs, ensuring they align with Morning Star’s mission and values.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized service plans (ISPs) in collaboration with families, clients, and staff.
  • Ensure compliance with DDD policies, state regulations, and internal procedures.
  • Staff Management:
  • Recruit, train, and supervise program staff, including Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) and administrative staff.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing professional development opportunities.
  • Maintain staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and support.
  • Client & Family Engagement:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for families and guardians, ensuring open and effective communication.
  • Address concerns or issues promptly and effectively, fostering a positive relationship with clients and their families.
  • Administrative Duties:
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic record-keeping systems (e.g., Dropbox, HHA Exchange).
  • Monitor program budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility.
  • Prepare reports and present program outcomes to leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in developmental disabilities or a similar field, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of DDD regulations, ISP development, and person-centered care.
  • Skills:
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in electronic record-keeping systems (e.g., Dropbox, HHA Exchange).
