Position Summary :
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to play a key role in the financial management of our organization. This position will involve overseeing critical accounting functions, ensuring tax compliance, and contributing to the development of accounting policies and procedures. The Senior Accountant will work closely with the VP of Finance and other departments to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial regulations.
Responsibilities :
Create and analyze liability, asset, and capital accounts by compiling electronic data and required documentation.Summarize and prepare financial reports, including profit and loss statements and other necessary financial summaries.Assist the VP of Finance in creating a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) manual for accounting policies and regulations, and roll out reconciliation procedures.Monitor and maintain a review system by implementing and ensuring the adherence to new finance department policies and procedures.Provide guidance and support to other staff, answering questions and coordinating training sessions.Perform bank reconciliations, inspect accounting books for efficiency and accuracy and prepare monthly financial close.Review the work of other staff members to ensure accuracy and compliance.Focus on tax compliance, state business registration, and contract review.Play a vital role in the company's financial management, including performing all account reconciliations, journal entries and reporting to necessary parties.Qualifications / Skills / Educational Requirements :
Experience with business registration, tax compliance, and the creation, distribution, and reporting of tax datasheets.Bachelor Degree in accounting or finance required.At least five years of experience working with intercompany transactions and reconciliations.Demonstrated leadership ability, with experience supervising up to five junior-level subordinates.Proven experience in budgeting for your department and coordinating team training initiatives.Strong understanding of financial application security to ensure all financial data remains secure and compliant with confidentiality policies.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, QuickBooks, and other financial applications.
