Our Life Enrichment Coordinator, under the direction of the Executive Director and Campus Manager, coordinates Life Enrichment activities for residents and serves as volunteer coordinator for the Chandler Estates Independent Living community.

Qualifications:
Education: Education on the fields of recreation therapy, and/or gerontology is preferred.
- Certifications/Licenses: None required for this position
- Training and Experience: Experience working with elderly and/or Activities Director or assistant preferred.
- Employment Variables: Reliable transportation and valid auto liability insurance for business travel.
Essential Job Functions:
- Plans, organizes and schedules programs for residents with feedback from the residents including but not limited to the Resident Council.
- Oversees entertainment provided by paid entertainers, volunteers or students inside Chandler Estates.
- Organizes outings and field trips for the residents.
- Reminds residents to activities throughout the buildings as needed on a daily basis via calendars, postings, Touchtown (and/or other social media technology in use) and personal invitations.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of the activities and transportation programs in consultation with the Campus Director, Resident Council, and other key team members.
- Works as a team member with resident services staff, volunteers, students and other department staff.
- Plans and organizes various activities/events on a monthly basis and works closely with Food Service and other departments to create joy and meaningful moments for residents, their family members, and staff.
- Trains and supervises volunteers placed under his/her direction or working from an outside group like Oasis, Churches, Auxiliary, or other.
- Maximizes community partnerships with nearby agencies, neighbors, churches, volunteer groups to maximize the overall well-being and self-value of the Chandler residents.
- Must operate the Life Enrichment program with fiscal responsibility, seeking to always operate within the budget parameters unless approved by management.
- Maintains contact with residents primarily and as needed their family members.
- Perform special assignments, projects and other duties as required
Position requirements, knowledge, skills, duties:
- Knowledgeable of resident rights and supports an atmosphere which allows for the privacy, dignity, and well-being of all residents in a safe, secure environment.
- Required to comply with attendance and tardiness standards established by management.
- Adheres to: Confidentiality of all data, including resident, employee and operations data, HIPAA regulations, Quality Assurance requirements and compliance with regulatory requirements, Compliance with current law and policy to provide a work environment free from sexual harassment and illegal and discriminatory behavior, Code of Conduct and Compliance Programs when performing job functions.
- Supports and participates in common teamwork: Cooperates and works together with all co-workers; plans and completes job duties with minimal supervisory direction, including appropriate judgment, uses tactful, appropriate communications in sensitive and emotional situations, Follows up as appropriate with supervisor, co-workers or residents regarding reported complaints, problems and concerns, promotes positive public relations with residents, family members and guests, completes requirements for in-service training, acceptable attendance, uniform and dress codes including personal hygiene, and other work duties as assigned, participates as assigned in the orientation of new staff and demonstrates a positive, helpful, and enthusiastic attitude.
- Immediately reports incidents of alleged resident abuse or neglect or alleged violations of residents' rights to Executive Director.
- Maintains current practice standards or changes by participating in educational opportunities provided by the community and outside resources.
