What are the responsibilities and job description for the THERAPY TEAM LEAD position at Morningside Ministries?
Job Summary:
Directs and coordinates therapy department; assumes responsibility for continuity, quality and safety of services in compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as fiscal intermediaries.
Essential Job Functions:
- Directs and coordinates therapy department; assumes responsibility for continuity, quality and safety of services in compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as fiscal intermediaries.
- Participates in activities relevant to professional services, including assignment of appropriate therapy staff and coordination with appropriate health personnel; including daily schedules and staffing to get optimal patient outcomes.
- Attend necessary community meetings as designated by Therapy Outcome Manager. (monthly QA, daily stand up meetings)
- Supervises and provides direction to other therapists to ensure quality, compliance with the plan of care, assessment and reassessment of patient’s needs.
- Applies concepts of infection control and standard precautions in coordinating/performing patient care activities to prevent contamination and transmission of disease.
- Participates in the QA/PI program and assures appropriate corrective measures are performed.
- Uses effective interpersonal relations and communication skills; facilitates the use of these skills by other team members.
- Demonstrate commitment, professional growth and competency.
- Collaborate with physician and nursing staff for plan of care as indicated. (ensures timely assessment, evaluation and PDPM management for skilled patients)
- Timely and accurately record treatment effects in accordance with established procedures. (ensure timely submission of managed care updates and documentation by team in EMR)
- Maintain records pertinent to patient treatments; submit documentation timely. (maintain integrity and accuracy in EMR)
- Maintain compliance with all MORNINGSIDE MINISTRIES/Morningside Ministries policies, procedures and requirements. Maintain compliance with all federal and state laws. Maintain compliance with all agency regulatory guidelines and requirements.
- Work successfully as part of a team and responsible for developing then maintaining strong working relationships with co-workers.
- Perform general office tasks as required.
- Perform special assignments, projects, and other duties as required.

Qualifications:
- Education: Licensed as at therapy professional in the State of Texas
- Training and Experience: Two years’ experience in SNF preferred. Therapy skills as defined as generally accepted standards of Good interpersonal skills. Proof of current CPR, and Hepatitis profile. Knowledge of durable medical equipment.
- Certifications/Licenses: Current Texas State License as a therapist assistant, current Texas Driver’s License
- Employment Variables: Reliable transportation and valid auto liability insurance to travel between facilities when required.
