Morningside University is seeking a Human Resources/Financial Coordinator that will work closely with the Associate Vice President of Human Resources and the Associate Vice President of Business/Controller by providing support with student accounts, assisting with payroll and employee benefits. This position will perform various clerical tasks including data entry, journal entries, assisting students at the window, monthly benefit billing, assisting with the monthly payroll processing, payroll taxes, updating personnel records, working with employee benefits, filing, scanning, and completing human resources reports, and surveys.
Responsibilities:
Human Resource Assistance:
· Assist with annual open enrollment
· Responsible for assisting in drafting notices and notifying employees of yearly reminders or changes
· Provides back up for employee check-out process
· Helps with completion of various HR surveys
· Provides back up for new employee orientations as necessary
· Assist with the administration and tracking of employee training programs
· Provides back for working with benefit vendors
· Compile, update, create, and scan personnel and benefit files
Payroll and Benefits:
· Assist and maintain spreadsheets for monthly calculations of life insurance and long-term premiums for employees
· Assist with the monthly processing of payroll to back up Payroll Coordinator
· Assist with the preparation of payrolls, audit timecards, meeting Federal and State reporting requirements, paying taxes, and all other payroll related functions
· Helps with year-end human resources and payroll procedures
· Data entry of employee benefit information
· Sets up and maintains staff benefit personnel and payroll fields
· Responsible for organizing, maintaining and filing employee information
· Billing monthly accounts receivable health insurance premiums & COBRA administration
· Reconcile and prepare payment of all monthly benefit bills (health, life and ltd, retirement etc.).
Business Office:
- Assist with Student Payment Plans (it requires good Excel skills)
- Journal entry processing
- Data Entry
- Assist students and employees at the window, taking payments and assisting with their other requests
- Assist business office with opening at the start of the day and closing out at the end of day, counting cash, making deposits and updating Daily Bank drawer
- as needed
- Answering student billing office phone calls
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
