Morningstar Living is currently hiring a Homemaker for our Moravian Hall Square campus in Nazareth, PA. This opportunity allows you to combine your love of cooking with building sincere and impactful relationships with our residents. This is a Full Time opportunity from 10:30am-7:00pm with an every other weekend requirement and benefits including:

The Lead Homemaker is responsible for the food safety and overall function of the kitchen, including meal preparation for two of the three meals served each day. Some of the duties involved include but are not limited to; serving, clean up, overall sanitation of the household kitchen, labeling and dating etc. This position is a fully integrated household team member with responsibilities in all facets of the elder’s life, including planned activities for elders that may involve food preparation or other activities specific to the kitchen.
What will I do as a Lead Homemaker?
- Prepares high quality food in accordance with all pertinent safety and health regulations, guidelines and standards.
- Facilitates kitchen related activities for residents; ensures that necessary supplies, equipment and utensils are available; organizes any necessary clean-up activities.
- Regularly seeks resident’s direction in choices of foods, menus, recipes and presentation.
- Understands liberalized therapeutic diets and special food requirements and finds ways to make such modifications palatable and enjoyable.
- Is responsible for the overall storing, labeling and dating of household food supplies.
- Facilitate mealtime conversations and maintain a warm, pleasant atmosphere while residents are eating.
What do I need in this role?
- Must have basic food knowledge to prepare and serve tasteful decorated, flavorful foods.
- Must acquire and maintain ServSafe Certification.
- Willing to provide meaningful interaction and kind support for the older adult population we serve.
- Dependability with scheduled work hours
- One year previous experience with food preparation and service.
